 Sport & Spinal Physiotherapy is a new sponsor of GUFC for 2008. In corporation with GUFC, Sport & Spinal Physiotherapy will be providing physiotherapy services at home games for senior players. All players can receive strapping as well as injury assessment and advice regarding injury management. There is no cost for these services, although a small cost will be charged for strapping supplies at a 20% discount to players on game day (strapping tape - $8, fixomull underwrap tape - $12, elastic overwrap tape - $8).All players of GUFC will receive a discount on treatment at Sport & Spinal Physiotherapy. Physiotherapists have a hands-on approach to treatment with an emphasis on exercise prescription and evidence-based treatment. A fully equipped gymnasium is located in the clinic suiting those patients requiring strength and stability as well as those following surgery. MASSAGE We offer a range of treatments from sports to relaxation massage. Our massage therapists aim to provide relief from musculoskeletal complaints due to sports injury through to postural pain. WORK CONDITIONING Our rehabilitation approach includes advanced assessment techniques to identify appropriate evidence-based interventions, task-specific training and manual handling education. All work conditioning programmes are managed by a physiotherapist and include some unsupervised sessions to encourage and facilitate self-management. We have a fully equipped gymnasium to assist with strength and stability using resistance weight training and with fitness using cardio equipment. Specific work hardening tasks can also be implemented to help workers regain the skills required to perform their pre-injury duties safely and efficiently, using boxes of various weights, sizes and shapes; trolleys; hand tools; step ladders; and a workboard for tradesmen undertaking overhead activities.
