Like the Pee Wee program, Roo Ball is also non-competitive football (soccer), except teams are generally based on friendship / school groups. The current criteria used to place children in a team are previous year teams or school attending where possible.
Under 6s to Under 8s will be playing 5-a-side games with no goalkeepers and Under 9s will be playing 7-a-side games with goalkeepers.
Under 6
The under 6 teams play in a round robin series of games within the club at Palmerston oval. Playing times are to be advised.
Under 7 - 9
The under 7 to under 9 teams play in a local round robin series of games with other Northside clubs. On average half the games are played at our home ground at the Nicholls Playing Fields and half are played away.
Things to note
Managers of Roo Ball teams are to make sure that spectators or reserve players do not stand down the centre lines of the fields during play (i.e. down the centre of the whole field). They are also to make sure that the area immediately behind and alongside the goals is kept clear for safety reasons. Parents and supporters of opposing teams are not allowed to stand behind the goalposts of their opponents urging their players to score. This places undue pressure on the goalkeeper and is not in the spirit of fair play.
