Capital Football has scheduled a number of referee courses for 2007, evenly spread across the ACT.

The majority of these courses are aimed at teenagers attaining a minimum age of 13 years before or during the season who will be trained to officiate as referees at Rooball and Junior Football games and (for those 15+) to assist at senior games if so desired.

Other courses are aimed at mature age persons wishing to improve their knowledge of the game and/or to officiate at Senior levels.

Why should I?

- You'll be helping your club make sure games are safe, fair and fun for all !
- You'll be keeping fit doing something you love !!
- You'll be getting paid !!!

How do I become a ref?

If you are turning 13 or older in 2006 you can complete a course on the laws of the game and some practical seminars run by Capital Football's coaches. Then you have to register with the Gungahlin club for your appointments and do some additional training on the local rules that apply to RooBall games.

What else do I have to do?

Once you pass your course and register with Gungahlin you will need to buy a uniform and some other equipment (but we will supply your flags and whistles).

Go on the roster for game appointments at Nicholls and Palmerston.

For more information, contact the Gungahlin Referee Coordinator Andrew Preston.
