Pre-filled GUFC registration forms have been mailed to last years players, blank forms are available on registration days and here:  Registration form 2010 (MS Word)
IMPORTANT - The NRR03 form below must be filled out (and signed) by all players or they are considered not registered and cannot take the field.
For players who played with GUFC last year, these will be available at registration days pre-filled and blank ones online from here: Download NRR03 Blank Form

Insurance

All players are covered by a player insurance policy if they are injured during an official game or official training. The Player Registration fee includes a component to cover the premium for each player and this included in the fees the club is required to pay to Capital Football each year. It should be noted that unless activities such as training or games have been sanctioned by the club and Capital Football, insurance cover is NOT provided for the activity.

Information and Introduction Day

This year we are holding an “Information and Introduction Day” at the Nicholls Playing Fields on Saturday, 27th March 2010. You will be able to have any questions answered regarding the 2010 season followed by the “Introduction Day” for children who are registered in Pee Wee and Roo Ball up to and including Under 9s.  Details such as teams, coaches, times and location of home matches will be available (U6 to U9 only).  All children are encouraged to attend as this will give them an opportunity to meet their coach and other members of their team as well as find out about training etc. We also expect uniforms to be available for purchase on the day.

If no coach has been allocated prior to the Information and Introduction Day the club will ask the parents for a volunteer. Coaches are often parents who volunteer there time to coach their son or daughter’s teams; it is therefore important that as parents we provide the coach with a Manager and assist with the setup/pack up of games.  Unfortunately the club will be forced to dissolve a team, if that team is without a coach as at the start of the season.

Coaching

The club will provide coaches with an introductory session early in the season for new coaches free of charge. This will be a basic introduction to preparing and handling a team during training. Coaches, managers and interested parents are encouraged to undertake an Introductory, Junior or Youth level-coaching course to acquit themselves with valuable coaching techniques that will assist young children. If you are thinking of becoming a coach, no previous experience is required, and Capital Football will be holding a number of accredited coaching courses for the various levels throughout the year.

It is the club’s policy that a team cannot be fielded without a coach and manager. All enquiries should be made to the Coaching Director at coaching@gungahlinunitedfc.org.au.

Referees

The Gungahlin Area Appointments Officer will, wherever possible, ensure that qualified and accredited referees are appointed to all Roo Ball and Junior games.  Unfortunately this is not always possible due to a lack of numbers and there are procedures for appointing a referee for these matches where an accredited referee has not been appointed.

Coaches, Managers and parents are not to dispute decisions with the referees or with officials of opposing teams. The procedures relating to protests and disputes are set out in the Junior League Handbook. Coaches, Managers and parents are asked to give the referees any assistance both on and off the field. Remember referees are a vital part of our game and we seek your support in encouraging them to continue and develop as referees.

As soon as a junior player turns 13 years of age they are eligible to do the referee training courses and become a junior referee.  Any player interested in finding out how to become a referee can contact the Referee Development Officer at referees@gungahlinunitedfc.org.au.

Sponsorship

There are a number of sponsorship opportunities for businesses or individuals wishing to support the club. Please contact the sponsorship coordinator at sponsorship@gungahlinunitedfc.org.au.
