Junior League Update Oct08 Print E-mail

A short update to let you all know about some happenings for the 2009 season:

  • Capital Football has set the registration stand days for 2009 as February 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd. GUFC will set the exact days for our stand soon.

  • Match Cards - Due to an increase in missing match cards there will be a change in the format of the Junior League match card and an increase in the current fine. As there is only an original for each team at every match Capital Football will be implementing a match card similar to the Mens and Women’s match card which is in triplicate. This will overcome the current problem of missing match cards.

  • GUFC is working on a number of initiatives including premier league and new fields for the coming season and beyond.

  • The registration process for 2009 will include an online registration process provided by Football Federation Australia. Keep and ey on the website for updates.

  • We are looking at our options for fundraising in 2009, if you have any thoughts please contact us using the contact page on the left of the site.

Whilst we have secured a number of key committee positions for 2009 we still have a long way to go. If you can help please get in touch. Exact positions will be advertised shortly.

Twenty very lucky U10/U11 Gungahlin United Football Club junior players have been selected to participate in the On Ground Entertainment Small-Sided Games display prior to the Qantas Socceroos v China World Cup Qualifying Match on 22 June 2008 at ANZ Stadium in Sydney. The U10 Galaxy and U11 Combination Team will represent GUFC, demonstrating their skills in two 5v5 Small Sided Games. This is part of the Football Federation Australia (FFA) promotion of the benefits of Small Sided Games.

The GUFC Committee wishes the players and their supportive parents making the trip to Sydney a safe trip and trust that this will be a fun and very exciting experience for the young players. We will add to this article some photos and a report when they return.
