Gungahlin United Football Club (GUFC) is an incorporated community organisation servicing Gungahlin and it's surrounding suburbs such as Nicholls, Palmerston, Ngunnawal, Amaroo, Harrison, Forde and Franklin.

GUFC started as the Gungahlin Junior Soccer Club in 1997, focused on Junior soccer in the Gungahlin area and home based at the Nicholls playing fields. Field capacity at Nicholls meant a move to Palmerston playing fields as a second base. In December 2005 the associations name was changed to Gungahlin United Football Club to reflect the change in direction of national naming and the introduction of a broader playing base including state league seniors and masters, both male and female.

GUFC currently has a player base of over 1100 players of all ages has teams in competitions including state league, junior competitive and non-competitive, northside rooball, and locally organised pewees. The club is the largest sporting association in Gungahlin and growing at a rapid rate. The growth of Gungahlin as a another town center for Canberra will ensure that GUFC is one of the largest football clubs in Canberra in the near future.
